Guzick Falls In Three, Tough Sets In First Round Of NCAA SIngles Championships

KALAMAZOO, WI (May 23, 2013) – In a battle that could have gone either way, senior Andrew Guzick brought his “A” game and took Washington University In St. Louis's Adam Putterman to three, intense sets. The Vassar College men's tennis No. 1, unfortunately could not hold out in the third set, falling, 7-6, 6-7, 6-4 in the first round of the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Singles Championship.

Guzick finishes his season with a record of 17-11 after a successful season of reclaiming the Liberty League Championship crown over Nationally Ranked Skidmore College.

Guzick had taken on Putterman, forcing him into a corner on multiple occasions. Putterman's strong forehand proved to be the clincher on some crucial points, but Guzick's ability to cover the entirety of his side of the court, balanced the battle out.
