POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (March 5, 2013) – Freshman Christian Phelps of the men's tennis team received his second straight Rookie of the Week honor as announced by Liberty League Commissioner, Tracy King, Monday morning.

Senior men's tennis player, Andrew Guzick earned his fourth straight week being honored by the Liberty League as he made Honor Roll on Monday.

Men's Tennis – Freshman Christian Phelps – Rookie of the Week

Phelps teamed with fellow freshman Daniel Cooper for Vassar's first win on Saturday against Northeast Regionally ranked #10 Brandeis. The freshman duo defeated Alex Siegel and Michael Secular, 8-4. Phelps revisited Secular on the court in singles play and walked away with a 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 No. 5 spot win.

Men's Tennis – Senior Andrew Guzick – Honor Roll

Vassar No. 1 spot and #17 regionally ranked Guzick went three sets with regionally ranked #11 Steven Milo of Brandeis for a tiebreaker, upset win in the third set, 4-6, 7-5, 7-6(1). Guzick came close to a win against MIT's #15 regionally ranked Edwin Zhang but fell in the third set, 6-2 on Friday.
