Sadeghi and Schapiro Compete at ITA Nationals For Fifth Place

MOBILE, AL (October 11, 2012) – Ava Sadeghi and Samantha Schapiro will compete for the fifth place spot in the doubles competition at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Small College Championships tomorrow. Sadeghi will compete for fifth in the singles competition.

Sadeghi fell to Middlebury College's Lok-Sze Leung this afternoon 6-2, 6-0. She will face Grinnell College's Laura Krull tomorrow morning at 8:30 am for a possible chance fifth place.

Sadeghi and Schapiro were defeated by Rebecca Curran and Kara Shoemaker of Williams College this evening in a close match 6-3, 6-4

“Both Ava (singles) and Ava/Sam in doubles played very competitive matches today and are looking forward to competing again tomorrow,” head coach Kathy Campbell said. “The level of play in this national tournament is exceptional and it is such and honor for our team members to compete.”

The doubles pair will face DePauw University's Meg Crowley and Claire Marshall tomorrow for a chance at fifth place.
