SALISBURY, MD (March 4, 2011) -- The Vassar College men's tennis team knocked off the ITA No. 23 nationally ranked Salisbury University 7-2 Friday evening.
“It was a great way to start the break with a win over a nationally ranked opponent indoors at their house,” said head coach John Cox. “Everybody was fired up and fought hard all the way through.”
The Brewers (4-1) face No. 13 Johns Hopkins at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The team flies to Southern California for the six match Spring Break trip that begins with Occidental on March 7 at 10:00 a.m.

“We took two of three doubles which was huge for us,” said Cox. “They were all very close and hard-fought matches.”

Ben Guzick outlasted Nottage 6-2, 7-6

Andrew Guzick overcame a 5-0 second set deficit with a seven-game surge to win in straights 6-4, 7-5 over Daniel Lupinetti for the deciding fifth point.
