Pacheco to Play in Prestigious North-South Senior Lacrosse All-Star Game

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (June 2, 2010) – Senior Liz Pacheco, who was named to the Liberty League Second Team this past season, has one more collegiate lacrosse game left in her career. Today, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced that Pacheco is one of 41 student athletes from 26 institutions who have been selected to play in the North-South Senior All-Star Game on Saturday, June 12 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Sports Training Center in Downingtown, PA.

Pacheco is one of 20 players on the North Team that will be coached by Kate Livesay, head coach at Trinity (CT) College. She is the only Liberty League player selected to play in the contest.

In her Vassar career, Pacheco played in 62 games and scored 31 goals with 19 assists. She had 134 ground balls, which is 12th best in school history, 68 draw controls and 69 caused turnovers. She earned Liberty League All-Academic honors in 2008, 2009, 2010

Pacheco concluded her senior season being named to the Liberty League Second Team after earning First Team honors as a junior.

A brief look at her last season at Vassar:
Had eight goals on the season ... Had 13 assists, tied for best on the team and fourth in the Liberty League ... Earned 45 ground balls this season, second best on the team and among the top five in the league ... Has had at least two ground balls in every game but two ... Tied for the team lead in caused turnovers with 24, which is fourth best in the Liberty League ... Had five caused turnovers against Bridgeport, best single game in school history ... Finished the season with seven ground balls and a goal against Rochester ...
