Field Hockey to Host Residential Summer Camp

Field Hockey Camp will be held from July 11-15

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (April 7, 2010) – Vassar college head field hockey coach Cara Dunn and members of the Brewers' team will conduct a Residential Field Hockey Camp from July 11-15. The camp is available for athletes of all skill levels – from beginner to advanced – and for grades 5-12.

The camp will be held on the Vassar College canpus. Campers will have the chance to stay in Jewett Dorm, eat at the All Campus Dining Center and compete on one of the top athletic facilities in the country. Weinberg Field.  Primarily campers will attend sessions on the turf field or indoor facility, which has a poured rubber surface.

The camper to coach ratio is 8:1 during all hockey sessions and an athletic trainer will be on sight at all times. The campers will have three sessions per day to work on all aspects of the game including: fitness, stick skills, game strategy and importance of a solid team dynamic. Campers are supervised at all times and the camper to counselor ratio during activities will never exceed 25:1.
