Warner Named ECAC Upstate Co-Offensive Player of the Week

The junior attack earned similar honors this past week from the Liberty League.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (April 28, 2010) -- Sarah Warner, the second leading scorer in the Liberty League with 52 goals this season, has been named by the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) as the Division III Upstate Co-Offensive Player of the Week. The honor comes in the same week that Warner earned a similar honor from the Liberty League.

Warner had a 13 goal week, getting back-to-back five goal games against Farmingdale State and Western Connecticut. She added three against RPI. On the season, she has had six games with five or more goals. Warner had 18 points for week, getting two assists against WestConn. She put 17 of her 20 shots on goal, an .850 percentage. She was strong defensively as well, getting 14 groundballs, seven against WestConn and had eight caused turnovers. This is Warner's second honor this season, and the second of her career.

Warner is a 2007 graduate of the Waring School where she earned four letters in lacrosse. In a scholastic career that got steadily better each season, Warner was a Conference All-Star selection her freshman season, added All-League honors to her playing resume as a sophomore and junior and was named league MVP as a senior.

Warner will lead the Brewers in the 2010 season finale against the University of Rochester on Friday, April 30 at 4:00 p.m.
