Emilie Kraft went 1-1 while junior
Kristine Bell dropped two matches, the second coming in a close five-game decision, on Friday at Trinity College.
Kraft picked up an impressive victory over Mount Holyoke College's Laura Robinson in the Round of 64, persevering for a five-game win. In a match that went back and forth, Kraft had the last say in an 11-5, 9-11, 9-11, 11-8, 11-9 victory, ending the match with an attacking drive from the forehand front corner. In the Round of 32, Kraft faced a formidable opponent in No. 4 seeded Courtney Bogle of Williams College, falling 3-0 (11-7, 11-7, 11-4). Kraft will enter the consolation bracket with a 9:00 a.m. match against Princeton's Nikki Sequeira.
In the round of 64, Bell faced Middlebury College's Avery Tilney, dropping a 3-0 (11-9, 11-7, 11-3) decision. In the consolation round, Bell took on Vassar's second Williams opponent of the day, squaring off against Alli Rubin. Returning from an early 2-0 deficit Bell dropped an extremely close five-game match, by a score of 11-2, 11-4, 10-12, 7-11, 11-6.
