Emily Haeuser is making the most of her remaining games, earning her first career ECAC Division III Upstate Player of the Week award on Tuesday. Haeuser is coming on particularly strong in the latter portion of the season, averaging 17.4 points per game over the last nine games. The senior forward leads Vassar – which has just three regular season games remaining – with 15.0 ppg and 8.3 rebounds per game, ranking third in both categories in the Liberty League.
On Monday, Haeuser was named Liberty League Forward of the Week for the fourth time this season after averaging 22.0 points and 10.0 rebounds for Vassar in a 1-1 league weekend. In a 65-46 win over Union last Friday, Haeuser notched a game-high 24 points to go with 13 rebounds, her ninth double-double of the season. Haeuser shot 9-for-11 from the field, 5-for-7 from the line, and even drained her only three-point attempt, just the third career three-pointer for the six-foot forward. On Saturday in a close 58-52 loss to league leading Skidmore, Haeuser had 20 points and seven rebounds, surpassing Lisa Ercolano '91 to become Vassar's fourth highest all-time scorer with 1,223 points. With 838 career rebounds and 161 career blocks, Haeuser is already the all-time leader in those categories.
The Brewers conclude the season with three home Liberty League games, hosting Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m., followed by Hamilton College on Friday at 6:00 p .m. and William Smith College on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. All three games are must-win situations for the Brewers who are currently in fifth place in the Liberty League standings. Vassar can only make the playoffs if it wins its final three games and Hamilton loses its final two. Hamilton's remaining games are against Vassar and RPI
