POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (September 26, 2009) -- The Vassar College baseball team played a 50-inning inter-squad marathon on Saturday, with the Burgundy team taking a 37-32 win over the Grey squad in a game that lasted around six hours.
The winning Burgundy team amassed 80 hits on the day and committed 14 errors, while the Grey team had 72 hits and ten errors. Leading the Burgundy was junior
David Ringold who went 8-for-16 with four runs, seven RBI, and two home runs. Senior
Adam Murphy was 11-for-21 with four runs and five RBI. For the Grey, junior
Mike Plude went 10-for-22 with three runs, five RBI and a home run, while sophomore
Scott Allen added a 9-for-22 effort with five runs, six RBI and one round tripper.
The Brewers will conclude their fall ball season with the annual Alumni Game next Saturday, October 3 at 1:00 p.m.
