POUGHKEESPIE, NY (November 5, 2009) -- Despite a difficult year for a young Vassar team field hockey team, senior
Catherine Fuller helped the team end the season on a high note when she was named Honorable Mention All-Liberty League as announced by the league today.
Fuller displayed exceptional senior leadership and anchored the midfield for the Brewers with tenacity and hard work. A strong transitional player, Fuller adeptly stopped many opponent scoring opportunities on defense and was in the mix of offense with good passing in the crease. An unheralded player, Fuller has good stick handling abilities, a nose for the ball and a noticeable field presence as a two year-year starter.
This past season, Fuller started all 19 games and recorded her first collegiate points with an assist against Elms College in the Betty Richey Tournament.
Fuller, a Sociology major, is a three-time Liberty League All-Academic recipient.
